Could Eddie Johnson Be Showing Signs Of Life?

November 16, 2008

Now that I’ve made this posting, I’ve undoubtedly jinxed him forever (that’s the power I have), but EJ finally seems to be finding some form for Cardiff.  After EJ’s showing in today’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, Manager Dave Jones was quick to praise the Grown Ass Man:

“I am very pleased for Eddie Johnson, who has received a lot of flack since coming to the club. Today we saw him lead the line superbly.

“He won a lot of balls in the air, made good runs and brought others into the play. He has needed time to get up to pace but now we may be able to see the best of him.”

Eddie grabbed an assist on Cardiff’s second goal today, and he also drew a penalty in the 90th minute that Chopra failed to convert.  It’s encouraging that Eddie appears to be settling in a bit and Cardiff’s injury woes at striker have given him a chance at solid minutes.  Still, until Eddie scores some goals for the Bluebirds, he remains on my shitlist.  If he wants back into the USMNT strikeforce, he needs to be able to score goals in the Colaship.  Cardiff face Plymouth next Saturday, so we can follow EJ once again and see if he continues his progress.

Let’s go buddy, get it together.

You think he can keep up the improvement?

  1. lol can you please post your shitlist

  2. EJ has never showed the simple care or desire in any game I’ve ever watched him play. He just seems lethargic, and I think for many of us he’ll have to show not only the ability to score GOALS, but simply put an INTEREST in helping his team win and perhaps some fire. He looks depressed out there.
